Wifey and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary in the Monterey Bay/Carmel area, but wanted to find something new. Found The Barnyard website and thought we would check it out. Glad we did! We did our shopping damage - wifey loves to shop - and then we decided to grab lunch. Walked around, saw a few restaurants, then we found Robata and thought a good bento sounded good... and it was! Ordered a couple bentos (sorry, no pics this time) and enjoyed everything! Loved the crunchies on top of the salad! - Beef Teriyaki was great - Chicken Teriyaki was great - Chicken Katsu was great - Tempura was fantastic And, instead of the standard white rice, we ordered the BBQ Fried Rice which was a yummy choice! Crispy on the outside with a really good BBQ glaze. Will be back for sure!
Delicious Filet Mignon, cooked perfectly and tender. Delicious Goyza and tempura. The people are lovely and we have been going there for years. Love the eggplant appetizer too!
Amazing! Food, service, ambiance, all 5/5 stars! I hadn't been to Robata in well over 15 years. But the new owners posted saying they had been working to bring Robata back to its roots. It was incredible just like I remember. We ordered way too much food all of it great! Tempura, edamame, Cali roll, chicken skewers, gyoza, for entree we enjoyed the hamache cama (our favorite of everything) and the beef rolls with spring onion. We sat outside with our toddler, or waiter was kind and attentive. Can't wait to go back!!

This is the very best sushi restaurant in the area! The food is amazing, the server was so attentive and the ambiance was clean and calming. I came on here to rave about the food but truly had a wonderful experience and plan on coming back soon!
I remember Robatas as a great restaurant when I was younger then it fell off the map. All I can say is Robatas is BACK. Great decor, and the sushi is super reasonable and delicious
The food was delicious; the service was great; and the ambience is amazing. If you are going to this place with a group of no more than 4 people, ask to be seated at the booth with the firepit--inside the restaurant.
